Grotte di Castro

Grotte di Castro is a village of Etruscan origin located in an area called Alto Viterbese; it boasts the necropolis of Pianezze. Grotte di Castro is a village located in an area called Alto Viterbese (the Northern part of the province of Viterbo), and has become famous thanks to the Sagra della Patata, a potato festival that is organised every year during mid-August and attracts several tourists.

Another tourist spot is the Etruscan necropolis of Pianezze. Perhaps, not everyone knows that this small village has made itself known for some years thanks to the event I sapori del borgo, whose aim is to make the typical products of this area known.
